About the role#
We are hiring full-time Baristas to work at the Auburn University Student Center. This role focuses on preparing beverages, handling transactions, and maintaining a clean service environment for our guests.
What you'll do#
- Operate the register and POS system to process cash and credit card payments.
- Prepare and serve coffees, teas, and specialty beverages according to brand standards.
- Greet customers and assist with their needs.
- Count, organize, and balance your cash drawer, including filling out cashier slips and making deposits.
- Follow all company cash handling policies and procedures.
- Prepare and serve food items in line with location standards.
- Set up and break down the coffee bar and service stations.
- Clean and sanitize your work area, stock beverage coolers, and organize grab-and-go items.
- Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
What you'll need#
- Ability to read and communicate in English.
- Basic math and counting skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Previous experience in customer service or cash handling is preferred.
- Previous experience as a barista is a plus.
- Ability to complete Food Handling Certification as required.
- Willingness to follow assigned dress codes and use protective equipment if needed.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing.
