About the role#
The Water Quality team is hiring an intern to support lead and copper compliance programs. This position runs from September through December 2026 and is based in Monroe, Connecticut. You will work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
What you'll do#
- Plan lead and copper sampling routes across company systems.
- Receive samples and manage the laboratory information system process.
- Prepare samples for transport to contract laboratories.
- Drive to customer homes to drop off and pick up sampling kits.
- Assist with reservoir monitoring, including sampling from a boat and preparing equipment or bottles.
- Follow company safety procedures for all field and driving tasks.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to swim for safety purposes.
- Boating experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Effective problem-solving abilities.
Location & details#
- This role is located on-site in Monroe, CT.
- The internship is a full-time, paid position at $19.50 per hour.
- Applicants should have a Boating Certificate from CTDEEP, though it is preferred rather than required.
