About the role#
Apera AI is looking for a Software Developer to join the Apera Vue engineering team. You will build real-time machine vision applications that power robotic systems in manufacturing environments. This is an on-site role based in Vancouver where you will work directly with lab hardware and production code to improve robotic accuracy and speed.
What you'll do#
- Develop and ship core C++ features for the Apera Vue application.
- Implement C++ modules that interact with vision data, robot pose data, and internal image pipelines.
- Run and validate code in a live robotic lab environment.
- Assist in testing and debugging real-world vision system behavior with robotic systems.
- Identify edge cases and performance issues while suggesting code-level improvements.
- Participate in unit testing, test coverage expansion, and refactoring.
- Contribute to automated testing infrastructure.
- Participate in daily standups, planning, and code review sessions.
- Write tests and investigate bugs in production builds.
- Use performance profiling tools to optimize for speed and memory.
- Contribute to documentation and developer notes.
What you'll need#
- Strong knowledge of C++, including object-oriented design and memory management.
- A solid foundation in linear algebra, vectors, and 3D transforms.
- Experience with version control, such as Git.
- Practical experience with software projects through coursework, personal work, or prior internships.

- Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
- Modality: On-site.
- Terms: Winter 2027 or Summer 2027.
- Compensation: CAD $3,600 to $4,500 per month.
- Status: Paid, full-time internship.
