About the role#
As a Student Safety & Transportation Driver, you provide reliable transportation for students. You serve as a consistent, trusted face for families, ensuring students arrive at school and home safely. This role involves managing the bus environment and maintaining a schedule that supports the school day.
What you'll do#
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, including checks on brakes, lights, and emergency exits.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules consistently to ensure punctuality.
- Maintain a calm, orderly environment by enforcing student discipline.
- Provide safety instruction to students at the start of each term, including procedures for emergencies and evacuations.
- Complete required reports accurately and on time.
- Keep the bus clean and fueled for daily operations.
What you'll need#
- Minimum age of 21.
- Successful completion of a DOT physical examination and a drug screening.
- Certification from the Missouri School Bus Driver Instructor Course, or a willingness to obtain it.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
- Good physical and mental health, including normal use of hands, feet, eyes, and ears.
- A commitment to safety and professional conduct.
Location & details#
- Location: Arnold, Missouri.
- Schedule: Split shift with morning and afternoon routes.
- Pay: $20.33 to $25.92 per hour.
- This is a full-time, paid position.
