About the role#
ANDRITZ Hydro Canada offers a winter internship within our hydroelectric project management teams. You will apply your academic knowledge in a professional setting, contributing to complex projects while working alongside experienced experts. This role provides hands-on experience in project management and engineering processes.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate project closures and plan activities related to deficiency lists.
- Follow up on the completion of engineering deliverables.
- Assist in the preparation of claims and gather documentation for final commercial settlements.
- Review non-conformities to identify lessons learned.
- Monitor project schedules, identify delays, and coordinate with team members to keep activities on track.
- Analyze engineering performance curves and consult with engineering directors to address obstacles.
- Review contractual status and coordinate with procurement.
- Check for missing quality assurance documentation.
- Validate project hours against plans and forecasts.
- Prepare monthly reports for clients.
- Maintain a matrix of all active projects and assigned key personnel.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in the 2nd or 3rd year of a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering program.
- Motivation and initiative.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, including 3D conceptualization, knowledge of mechanical fasteners, and practical application skills.
- Organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure with changing priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingualism.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
