About the role#
ANDRITZ is seeking an HSE Operations Intern for the Hydro Division in Pointe-Claire. This role supports health, safety, and environmental initiatives for hydroelectric projects ranging from small to high complexity. You will work alongside experienced professionals to apply your academic knowledge to real-world engineering and construction environments.
What you'll do#
- Prepare weekly and monthly HSE meetings and bulletins.
- Help implement and update health, safety, and environmental plans and procedures.
- Draft project HSE documentation, including safe work procedures, activity risk assessments, and job plans.
- Coordinate HSE aspects for office and facility activities.
- Gather and organize HSE training modules and certifications.
- Identify HSE deficiencies and propose immediate corrections.
- Verify the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.
- Collaborate with the HSE Operations Manager and coordinators on business updates for the HSE Management System.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Health and Safety or an equivalent field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of Construction Safety Regulations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with all levels of the organization.
- Analytical skills for root cause analysis and problem solving.
- A commitment to quality, integrity, and perseverance.
- Initiative, creativity, and sound judgment.
- Ability to work in a complex environment with changing priorities.
