About the role#
ANDRITZ Hydro Canada is offering a winter internship within its hydroelectric project management teams. You will work on complex projects alongside experienced professionals to apply your academic knowledge to real-world engineering processes.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate project close-out activities and plan on-site deficiency list work.
- Monitor the completion of final engineering deliverables and support claims preparation.
- Gather documentation for final commercial settlements.
- Review non-conformities and identify lessons learned.
- Track the project schedule, identify delays, and follow up with team members to ensure deadlines are met.
- Analyze engineering performance curves and coordinate with Engineering Directors to resolve blockers.
- Review contract status and procurement sequences.
- Identify missing quality assurance documentation.
- Validate project hours charged against plans and forecasts.
- Prepare monthly client reports.
- Maintain a matrix of active projects and key personnel responsibilities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in the 2nd or 3rd year of a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering program.
- Bilingual language skills.
- Mechanical aptitude, including conceptualization, 3D perception, and knowledge of mechanical fastening.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
- Initiative, autonomy, and strong communication skills.
