    About the role#

    Analytical Mechanics Associates is hiring two part-time interns to support distributed sensing flight test activities for the NASA Langley Research Center. This role focuses on evaluating radar and vision detection and tracking algorithms designed to identify crewed aircraft, uncrewed aircraft, and wildlife. This work contributes to the NASA Air Traffic Management and Safety Project.

    What you'll do#

    • Support flight experiments by collecting data.
    • Label radar and vision data sets.
    • Assist with software development tasks related to distributed testing.
    • Document testing procedures, experiment setups, and findings.

    What you'll need#

    • An MS or PhD in Engineering or Computer Science.
    • Experience with sensor-based data collection.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
    • Familiarity with aircraft systems operations is preferred.
    • Experience applying data collection techniques within the aviation domain is preferred.

    Location & details#

    • This is a remote position based in California.
    • The term runs from September through December 2026.
    • This is a part-time role requiring 5 to 10 hours per week.
    • This internship is paid at a rate of $29.50 to $33.50 per hour.
