    About the role#

    Analytical Mechanics Associates is hiring two interns to support distributed sensing flight test activities for the NASA Langley Research Center Aeronautics Systems Engineering Branch. This role involves evaluating radar and vision detection and tracking algorithms designed to identify crewed aircraft, uncrewed aircraft, and wildlife. This work contributes to the NASA Air Traffic Management and Safety Project.

    What you'll do#

    • Support flight experiments by collecting data.
    • Label radar and vision data.
    • Assist with software development tasks related to distributed testing.
    • Document procedures, experiments, and findings.

    What you'll need#

    • An MS or PhD in Engineering or Computer Science.
    • Experience with sensor-based data collection.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work well in a collaborative team.
    • Familiarity with aviation data collection and aircraft systems operations is preferred.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Hampton, Virginia.
    • Term: Fall 2026 (September through December).
    • Commitment: 5-10 hours per week.
    • Modality: Hybrid (includes on-site NASA LaRC activities and remote work).
    • Compensation: $25-$27.69 per hour.
