About the role#
The Process Engineering team works with manufacturing operations to improve efficiency, quality, and reliability. You will work directly with engineers, operators, and cross-functional partners to identify improvement opportunities and solve operational challenges. This role offers hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment where you can contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Analyze manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for optimization.
- Help implement solutions that improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance operational performance.
- Evaluate production cleaning cycles, equipment changeovers, and other manufacturing processes.
- Develop recommendations to reduce downtime, improve throughput, or minimize scrap.
- Explore opportunities to automate repetitive manual activities.
- Partner with teams to evaluate, test, and implement technology-enabled solutions.
- Apply problem-solving methodologies and data analysis to recommend process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Undergraduate student status, having completed freshman, sophomore, or junior year by the start of the internship.
- Anticipated graduation date between August 2027 and April 2030.
- Pursuing a degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience analyzing and interpreting data.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
- Comfort building relationships and engaging stakeholders at all levels.
- Capacity to navigate ambiguity and take ownership of projects.
- Interest in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Technical aptitude and curiosity for manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated leadership potential.

- Location: Ada, Michigan.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Work Modality: This is an on-site role. You must report to the office Monday through Thursday, with Friday as a remote-optional day.
- Employment Type: Full time.
