About the role#
As a Process Engineer Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting manufacturing and assembly processes for industrial products. You will work alongside experienced engineers to apply engineering principles to real-world challenges. This role involves exposure to sustaining engineering, new product introductions, and continuous improvement efforts.
What you'll do#
- Document manufacturing processes for components, connectors, cable assemblies, and harnesses.
- Learn core product knowledge from Process Engineers.
- Support documentation compliance with Quality System requirements, including process validation.
- Create and maintain work instructions for new product introductions under supervision.
- Collaborate with engineering services and internal teams to meet departmental goals.
- Observe and assist in new product introduction builds.
- Conduct time studies and support the evaluation of time standards with Manufacturing and Assembly teams.
- Contribute to project teams by supporting design and process engineering tasks.
- Perform basic maintenance and assist with equipment troubleshooting.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn in a collaborative environment.
- Exposure to manufacturing environments through coursework, labs, or previous internships.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks or other CAD software.
- Interest in hi-mix or low-volume manufacturing.
Location & details#
- Location: Mesa, Arizona.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $21 per hour.
- Schedule: Rolling term, flexible hours (15+ hours per week).
