    About the role#

    The Manufacturing Process Engineer Summer Intern will join a team supporting the daily operations of a high-mix commercial door lock manufacturing facility in Colorado Springs. This role provides early career experience and the chance to apply engineering principles and problem-solving techniques to real-world projects.

    What you'll do#

    • Contribute to improvement projects to reach financial productivity goals.
    • Develop and improve mixed-model assembly processes.
    • Assist with the creation of process documentation for manufacturing operations.
    • Design basic mechanical components and assemblies for work holding and fixturing.
    • Troubleshoot equipment and process failures.
    • Assist in the requisition and installation of capital equipment.
    • Identify opportunities to improve safety and quality.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering degree program.
    • Mechanical design aptitude.
    • Experience with PTC Creo or equivalent solid modeling software.
    • Ability to manage your own time and work effectively under constraints.
    • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to build internal customer relationships.
    • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
    • Experience with data collection, analysis, and interpretation to inform decisions.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
