About the role#
Amida Technology Solutions is seeking a Data Science Intern to join our Chief Data Scientist Group. This mentor-guided position focuses on applying classroom knowledge to real-world projects involving graph algorithms and advanced data management. This is a full-time, 40-hour per week role based in our Washington, DC office, with a hybrid schedule requiring three days per week on-site.
What you'll do#
- Design, implement, and optimize graph algorithms and data structures.
- Create and implement algorithms for clustering, outlier detection, community detection, dimensionality reduction, and encoding or embedding.
- Build distributed training pipelines for large-scale graphs.
- Write queries and stored procedures for data loading, retrieval, and database migration.
- Contribute to technical documentation and white papers.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or engineering with a focus on graph theory, algorithms, and data structures.
- Working knowledge of Python and familiarity with software development and testing methodologies.
- Experience or familiarity with NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, and Azure Databricks.
- Familiarity with graph libraries, machine learning frameworks, and query languages like Cypher or Gremlin.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a self-motivated approach.
- Strong communication skills and a desire to learn new technologies.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder.
