About the role#
This is a 12-week paid summer internship for Summer 2027 based in Vancouver, Washington. You will join our team to support the optimization of the Agentic AI ecosystem for edge devices. This role focuses on improving the inference layer to boost AI model performance, efficiency, and responsiveness on hardware with limited resources. You will work on software engineering, machine learning, and system design to evaluate workflows and develop practical solutions.
What you'll do#
- Optimize AI inference workflows for edge-device environments.
- Analyze latency, memory usage, computational efficiency, and model performance.
- Identify bottlenecks within agentic AI architectures.
- Develop and test software prototypes and optimization approaches.
- Support the integration of AI models and agents with edge hardware.
- Document findings, technical designs, and performance recommendations.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, AI, and strategy stakeholders.
- Use AI-assisted development tools like Codex, Copilot, and Claude to accelerate coding, testing, and debugging.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
- No more than 24 months of prior work experience professionally related to this role.
- Ability to obtain work authorization in the United States in 2027.
- Must not require work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and agentic AI concepts.
- Proficiency in coding, software development, and systems engineering.
- Experience with technical design, prototyping, testing, debugging, and performance analysis.
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
