About the role#
Amgen British Columbia, located in Burnaby, is a research center of excellence focused on platform technology for the discovery of therapeutic antibodies. This 8-month co-op position offers an opportunity to work within the Technology department to design, develop, and implement software solutions that support pharmaceutical research and development. You will collaborate with scientists to translate laboratory processes into codified solutions.
What you'll do#
- Develop and optimize internal and vendor software systems, including the implementation of data pipelines.
- Collaborate with scientists and technology team members to automate laboratory instruments to improve experimental efficiency.
- Design and implement data visualization tools and dashboards to assist researchers in interpreting complex data sets.
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify technical needs and deliver effective solutions.
- Participate in the testing and validation of new systems and create technical documentation for maintenance.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Completion of at least one year of study at an accredited college or university.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, JavaScript, or C#.
- Ability to commit to two consecutive four-month terms.
