About the role#
Blue Ridge Equine Clinic is offering a full-time equine veterinary internship for 2027. This program is for veterinary graduates who want to build clinical confidence and gain experience across a diverse caseload. You will work as an active member of the medical team in Virginia, providing both ambulatory and hospital-based care for sport, pleasure, and breeding horses. Interns receive mentorship from experienced veterinarians while working toward greater independence in their practice.
What you'll do#
- Work closely with experienced equine veterinarians.
- Participate in lameness and performance evaluations.
- Assist with emergency care, reproduction, internal medicine, surgery, and diagnostics.
- Strengthen your diagnostic approach, technical abilities, case management, and client communication skills.
- Provide both ambulatory and hospital-based care.
What you'll need#
- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
- A compassionate and team-oriented approach to veterinary medicine.
- A strong interest in equine practice and continued clinical development.
- The ability to lift 40+ lbs.
- A valid driver’s license.
