About the role#
The Investments Intern program provides first-hand experience in investment management. You will support portfolio management and research, contributing directly to the investment process. You will work alongside experienced portfolio managers and analysts who provide mentorship and shadowing opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain three-statement financial models and earnings forecasts for leveraged issuers.
- Conduct fundamental credit analysis, including assessment of business risk, industry dynamics, financial performance, capital structure, and covenant protections.
- Develop relative value frameworks to compare investment opportunities across issuers, industries, and capital structures.
- Prepare credit recommendation memoranda incorporating financial, credit, and relative value analyses for evaluating primary and secondary loan market opportunities.
- Support portfolio monitoring through earnings reviews, company updates, and ongoing credit surveillance.
- Develop an understanding of the bank loan, CLO, and broader fixed income markets through research, investment discussions, and interaction with the team.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Business.
- Expected graduation date of December 2027 or May/June 2028.
- Experience with financial statement analysis, accounting, valuation, or financial modelling through coursework, internships, or extracurricular activities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- Interest in leveraged finance, corporate credit, bank loans, high yield, or structured credit markets.
- Strong analytical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Ability to multitask, solve problems independently, and think critically.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: El Segundo, California.
- Modality: Hybrid, with at least four days per week in the office.
- Employment: Full-time.
- Compensation: $32.75 per hour.
