About the role#
Join the team to create financial literacy programming for the This Is Uncomfortable and Million Bazillion podcasts. You will work with producers to create human-centered stories that connect global economic trends to personal financial choices. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in journalism and audio production while contributing to content for broadcast, web, and social media.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with producers to brainstorm, book guests, edit tape, and write scripts for This Is Uncomfortable.
- Help shape scripted episodes for the kids and family podcast, Million Bazillion.
- Record interviews, cut tape, and perform sound design.
- Conduct research and fact-checking to ensure script accuracy and prepare hosts.
- Work with digital teams to create web and social media extensions of podcast content.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university, or graduation within the past 18 months.
- Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Experience in a newsroom setting, such as a college newspaper, radio station, or magazine.
- Interest or experience in financial literacy, economics, or the role money plays in daily life.
- Familiarity with audio platforms.
- Interest in weekly podcast production, short-form video, comedy, pop culture, or kids education.
Location & details#
- This is a fully remote position that can be performed from anywhere in the United States.
- The internship runs from January 4, 2027, to June 4, 2027.
- This is a paid position at $20 per hour.
- Benefits include accrued sick time, eligibility for health insurance as required by the ACA, and participation in the company retirement plan.
