About the role#
This internship focuses on patient engagement within the American Heart Association. You will contribute to a project funded by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) aimed at building a framework for patient involvement in heart and brain health research. This is a paid, remote position based in Dallas, Texas.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the daily execution of the PCORI-funded project.
- Help plan and manage grant reporting and administrative tasks.
- Coordinate meetings and events involving volunteers and key stakeholders.
- Work with internal teams across science, research administration, and program implementation to hit project milestones.
- Manage volunteer communications, including outreach via phone and email.
What you'll need#
- You are currently a senior or graduate student in public health, pre-med, or a related health science field.
- You have experience or a strong interest in health research and project management.
- You communicate effectively with diverse groups, including community leaders and volunteers.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Clinical experience is helpful but not required.
- You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This role is remote but requires you to be based in Dallas, Texas.
- You must be available to attend an in-person event in Dallas on February 22, 2027.
- The internship runs from January 25, 2027, to May 7, 2027.
- You must be available at least 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm.
- You will need a reliable WiFi connection to perform your duties.
