About the role#
The IT Intern for Digital Platforms supports the modernization of web portals used by our agents and clients. You will work within cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design features, and build responsive applications. This role offers exposure to professional technology projects, allowing you to apply your academic background to real-world business challenges.
What you'll do#
- Develop front-end portal websites using React and Tailwind CSS.
- Build and maintain back-end services and APIs using the .NET framework.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions by working directly with stakeholders.
- Design user interactions and code, test, and debug web applications.
- Collaborate with team members using tools like Microsoft Teams, Jira, and GitHub.
- Complete project tasks with guidance from your mentor and department leader.
- Partner with other interns on a strategic initiative that impacts the business.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit or recent completion of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of front-end languages including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Working knowledge of React and familiarity with .NET development.
- Understanding of API design and databases.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, such as S3, DynamoDB, or CloudFormation, is a plus.
- A Web Development Certification is a plus.

- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- The role is based on-site in West Des Moines, Iowa.
- The position operates on a rolling basis.
