About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Counselor Intern position based in Etta, Mississippi. You will work on-site with a team focused on providing care to adults managing addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. The role follows a rolling schedule and requires flexibility, including the ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime.
What you'll do#
- Provide individualized case management and group therapy sessions.
- Conduct bio-psychosocial assessments for clients.
- Develop client resources, assist with vocational counseling, and manage discharge and continuing care planning.
- Maintain regular communication with referral sources and external service providers.
- Serve as a liaison with the Utilization Review department regarding client care.
- Participate in weekly 1:1 supervision sessions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a program for Drug and Alcohol counseling certification at an accredited institution.
- Two years of experience working in a substance abuse environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to communicate clearly, manage group presentations, and build professional relationships with clients and staff.
- Capability to lift up to 15 pounds and sit for prolonged periods at a desk.
