About the role#
Alliance Animal Health offers a DVM Student Externship at Lefferts Animal Hospital in Richmond Hill, Queens. This role provides veterinary students with real-world experience in a full-service, 10-doctor practice. Externs receive 1:1 mentorship and guidance through a DVM mentor network.
What you'll do#
- Provide medical, surgical, and dental care for companion animals.
- Promote responsible pet ownership and preventative health care.
- Participate in surgery, emergency and urgent care, high-speed dentistry, and other veterinary services.
- Utilize in-house diagnostics, digital radiology, ultrasonography, and laser therapy.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a 1st through 4th year veterinary student at an AVMA-accredited institution.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient care.
- Interest in enhancing clinical education through hands-on practice.
