About the role#
Crossroads Animal Hospital offers a hands-on clinical experience for veterinary students. You will integrate into our team to apply your classroom knowledge in a real-world setting. We focus on mentorship and skill development across general practice, emergency, and specialty care. We treat dogs, cats, and exotic animals including avians, reptiles, and small mammals.
What you'll do#
You will work directly with experienced veterinarians and support staff. Your daily tasks include:
- Participate in case discussions and collaborative problem-solving.
- Provide hands-on patient care.
- Perform exams under veterinarian supervision.
- Discuss cases with your supervising veterinarian to confirm findings and treatment plans.
- Assist with surgical cases, dental procedures, emergencies, and routine medical appointments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
- Must be in your 3rd or 4th year of study.
- Proof of professional liability insurance.
- Priority is given to students in clinical years on official externship blocks for school credit.

- Stipends are available to offset travel and lodging costs, unless prohibited by your school.
