About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at AD Systems, you will work with engineering and cross-functional teams on projects covering the full product life cycle. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based on-site in Everett, Washington. You will gain experience in new product development, value engineering, product sustaining, manufacturing, and quality analysis.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with new product development, value engineering, and sustaining engineering teams.
- Use mechanical design and analysis tools for concepting, design development, and project execution.
- Fabricate and build prototypes in a manufacturing environment.
- Conduct product testing to meet industry and internal standards.
- Learn manufacturing processes and practices by assisting the manufacturing engineering team.
- Perform quality analysis and verify part conformance.
- Work with cross-functional partners including purchasing, finance, project management, and drafting.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- Completion of sophomore year by the start of the internship.
- Minimum 3.0 on a 4.0 GPA scale.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative.
- Experience with CAD software, preferably AutoCAD and Inventor.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in both team and individual settings.
- Resiliency and the ability to adapt quickly.
- Strong time management, listening, and resource utilization skills.
- A desire to learn, grow, and develop.
