About the role#
This Summer 2027 internship supports the development of embedded hardware for electronic access control and security products. You will work within the Advanced Development team at the Hague Road Technical Center. The role involves hands-on project work, design reviews, and collaboration with team members to build security solutions.
What you'll do#
- Define and scope hardware requirements.
- Design and document system architecture.
- Perform schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Test and integrate hardware into modular systems.
- Utilize engineering tools for simulation and design analysis.
- Deepen your understanding of RF design, antenna considerations, and basic electronics.
- Use electrical tools such as digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and digital logic analyzers.
- Participate in daily team meetings and peer design reviews.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program for Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technology fields.
- Completion of at least one class in basic circuit theory or design.
- Demonstrated leadership and initiative through activities like student clubs, sports, or project management.
- Effective listening, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- A strong desire to learn and develop professional skills.
- Familiarity with Altium Designer or similar ECAD tools is preferred.
