About the role#
The Firmware Engineer intern will support the development of embedded firmware solutions for electronic access control and security products. You will work within a small team to define requirements, design system architecture, and test embedded software. This role provides hands-on experience with electronic locking systems and the opportunity to contribute to product innovation.
What you'll do#
- Develop and test embedded software while integrating firmware into modular systems.
- Scope firmware requirements and document system architecture.
- Use programming languages like C and Python.
- Apply product development tools including functional block, flow, and state diagrams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in daily standups and design reviews.
- Build knowledge of electronics and laboratory tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated leadership through school, work, extracurriculars, or projects.
- Coursework in C programming and foundational knowledge of electronics.
- Strong listening, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- An eagerness to learn and contribute to team projects.
