About the role#
This summer internship offers the chance to support the development of embedded firmware for electronic access control and security products. You will work within a team to define firmware requirements, design system architecture, and test embedded software. The role involves integrating firmware into modular systems and contributing to innovative security products. You will gain exposure to electronic locking systems while building professional relationships across the organization.
What you'll do#
- Develop and test embedded software while integrating it into larger systems.
- Expand your programming skills in C and Python.
- Apply product development tools including functional block, flow, and state diagrams.
- Build knowledge of basic electronics and laboratory tools like multimeters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during daily standups and project meetings.
- Participate in design and code reviews to refine your technical approach.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated leadership through school, work, or extracurricular project involvement.
- Coursework in C programming, with intermediate proficiency preferred.
- Foundational knowledge or coursework in electronics.
- Strong time management, listening, and problem-solving skills.
- An eagerness to learn and contribute to team projects.
