About the role#
Allegion is seeking a Controls Engineering Intern to join our team for the summer of 2027. This full-time internship offers hands-on experience in a manufacturing and automation environment. You will work alongside experienced engineers and technicians to contribute to real-world projects and build technical skills.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the development and troubleshooting of new and existing automation systems.
- Work with industrial communication networks and infrastructure.
- Create and update electrical and pneumatic schematics, prints, and technical documentation.
- Support the installation, testing, and startup of new equipment on the manufacturing floor.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action for controls-related issues.
- Maintain software backups and version control for automation systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- A basic understanding of electrical circuits.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Capacity to work effectively within a team and execute tasks independently.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies.
