    About the role#

    Allegion is seeking a Controls Engineering Intern to join our team for the summer of 2027. This full-time internship offers hands-on experience in a manufacturing and automation environment. You will work alongside experienced engineers and technicians to contribute to real-world projects and build technical skills.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist with the development and troubleshooting of new and existing automation systems.
    • Work with industrial communication networks and infrastructure.
    • Create and update electrical and pneumatic schematics, prints, and technical documentation.
    • Support the installation, testing, and startup of new equipment on the manufacturing floor.
    • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action for controls-related issues.
    • Maintain software backups and version control for automation systems.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a degree program for Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
    • A basic understanding of electrical circuits.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
    • Ability to communicate technical information clearly.
    • Capacity to work effectively within a team and execute tasks independently.
    • Eagerness to learn new technologies.

    • Location: Indianapolis, Indiana.
    • Work Modality: This is an on-site position.
    • Employment Type: Full-time summer internship.
    • Compensation: This is a paid position.
    • Note: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
