About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to join the Support Operations Team at the Airbus facility in Kinston, North Carolina. Over the course of 10 to 12 weeks, you will work directly with a mentor to address real-world operational challenges. You will gain hands-on experience, tour manufacturing facilities, and build professional connections through company activities.
What you'll do#
- Analyze historical expenditures to identify cost drivers and inefficiencies.
- Assess current management processes and benchmark against other facilities.
- Identify specific areas for operational improvement.
- Develop and propose a cost reduction strategy, such as optimized procurement or waste reduction initiatives.
- Create a tracking system to monitor consumption and optimize stock levels.
- Deliver recommendations and implementation guidelines to ensure the sustainability of your proposed strategies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university program in IT, Data Science, Business Administration, Finance, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Proficiency in G-Suite and Microsoft applications.
- Strong knowledge of technical terms.
- Relevant experience through school projects.
- Authorization to work in the US without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is 100% on-site in Kinston, North Carolina.
- You must be willing to live in Kinston for the duration of the program.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift or carry up to 30 pounds and the ability to navigate office and production environments while wearing required personal protective equipment.
