About the role#
Airbus is hiring a long-term intern for the Cabin Engineering team in Mobile, Alabama. This multi-semester position supports the design, analysis, and certification of commercial aircraft interiors. You will work alongside engineering teams on projects ranging from product development to manufacturing support. This is a full-time, on-site role that offers a dedicated mentor and opportunities to present work to the leadership team.
What you'll do#
- Support cabin engineering through the design, analysis, and certification of interior components.
- Participate in innovation projects involving automation, digitalization, data analytics, and API or web application development.
- Generate engineering reports, templates, and status updates to track project progress.
- Organize engineering data and manage the routing of documents for review.
- Coordinate with internal and external customers and record meeting minutes.
- Assist in creating presentation materials and drafting engineering documentation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited, full-time 4-year degree program in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, Systems, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Minimum sophomore standing or enrollment in a Master's degree program.
- Ability to work in the US without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
- Current residency in the Mobile, Alabama area.
- Experience with engineering tools such as CAD, MathCAD, or Nastran/Patran.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or R.
- Familiarity with data science, data analytics, or web development.
- Ability to interpret technical procedures, engineering drawings, and bills of material.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
