About the role#
This internship offers a chance to learn how to advise customers on financial products by understanding their operations and priorities. You will work on projects that contribute to the team and gain exposure to the daily operations of a financial cooperative. This is a 12-week, full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Learn general office procedures and assist with promotional activities.
- Input annual financial information from customers and analyze their financial position.
- Conduct credit verifications with credit references and other lenders.
- Promote the organization through public activities.
- Complete assigned special projects.
- Observe marketing, sales, and prospecting calls.
- Shadow the team during new loan applications, renewals, and loan closings to understand legal requirements.
- Spend time with an Appraiser to learn the procedures and requirements for real estate and chattel appraisals.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Ag Business, Accounting, Finance, Agricultural Economics, Animal Science, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- A strong desire to understand the ag finance, lending, and credit business.

- Location: Manchester, Iowa.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Note: Interns must be available to travel to Omaha, Nebraska, three times during the summer for Orientation, Mid-Summer, and Closing events. Travel expenses are covered.
