About the role#
The Student Respiratory Care position at Adena Health System provides respiratory pharmacologic, diagnostic, and therapeutic care to patients of all age groups. Working under the direct supervision of a Respiratory Care supervisor and the shift Lead or Charge Therapist, you will provide direct patient care and collaborate with physicians, families, and other clinical departments to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
What you'll do#
- Carry out physician orders according to established protocols, best practices, and policies.
- Perform diagnostic procedures and cardiac monitoring, including the recognition of arrhythmias.
- Administer medications for the testing or treatment of cardiopulmonary impairment.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation.
- Provide input regarding the development of department policies, procedures, and protocols.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Active enrollment and good standing in a recognized respiratory care educational program.
- Current Ohio Respiratory Care Limited Permit issued by the Ohio Respiratory Care Board.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
