About the role#
Achievers is hiring for four Software Engineering Co-op positions for the Winter 2027 term, running from January to April. You will join the Member Experience team and work alongside experienced engineering leaders. This role is designed to provide you with meaningful project work, comprehensive onboarding, and dedicated mentorship. We value co-ops who are ready to learn and contribute to our platform.
What you'll do#
- Build, own, and maintain new product features, including developing POCs to test new ideas.
- Collaborate with senior engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and feedback sessions.
- Manage code in GitHub by creating pull requests, reviewing code, and merging branches.
- Develop and test features to scale user data and HR integration services.
- Create automated test cases using Go and Python to improve release reliability.
- Contribute to backend development using Go, including building APIs, fixing bugs, and integrating with microservices.
- Assist with UI updates and learn front-end fundamentals using React.
- Gain experience with tools and services such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Google Pub/Sub.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a co-op program for Software Engineering or a related field.
- Completion of previous successful co-ops or internships.
- Experience working on backend or full-stack projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive mindset with a willingness to ask questions and seek feedback.
- Passion for software engineering and a drive to grow your technical skills.
- Preferred: Advanced co-op experience (Year 3 or 4).
- Preferred: Experience with Python, Go, or React.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Agile environments, Jira, GitHub, Kubernetes, GCP, and microservices.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid co-op position.
- The role is hybrid, requiring presence in our Liberty Village, Toronto office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
