About the role#
This Federal Work Study position supports the Game Development department by managing daily operations in the Academic Labs and Game Lounge. You will assist students and staff, maintain equipment, and help troubleshoot technical issues. This role aims to build a supportive community while helping you develop skills in customer relations, organization, and technical software use.
What you'll do#
- Manage check-in and check-out processes for students and staff using the Academic Labs and Game Lounge.
- Handle equipment and console game lending.
- Maintain accurate logs for all users and equipment.
- Keep the labs and lounge clean, organized, and in good working order.
- Provide support by troubleshooting technical issues on computers and consoles.
What you'll need#
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- An outgoing and friendly personality.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Self-motivation, initiative, and solid time management skills.
- Current enrollment in Computer Science, Art, or Media Studies programs.
Location & details#
- Location: San Francisco, California.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week, scheduled to avoid conflicts with your classes.
- Compensation: $19.61 per hour.
- Employment Term: Rolling from your start date through graduation.
