About the role#
This is an 11-week summer internship program focused on either Data Engineering or Software and Application Engineering. You will work with teams to build technology solutions that support business and scientific objectives. This is a full-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Design, build, and maintain enterprise applications.
- Develop and test interactive, responsive user interfaces.
- Build backend services, APIs, and microservices.
- Implement server-side logic, workflows, and data pipelines.
- Optimize software for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Build, maintain, and optimize data infrastructure and databases.
- Ensure data is collected, processed, and stored securely.
- Integrate data sources to create foundations for analytics and data science.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, AI, or a related field.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Must be enrolled in university the semester following the internship and graduate within one year after.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
- Strong analytical skills and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated teamwork, adaptability, innovation, and integrity.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Preferred: Experience with NodeJS, Vue.js, HTML, Java, JavaScript, SQL, TypeScript, APEX, or Python.
- Preferred: Experience with R, APIs, large language models, machine learning, or generative AI.
- Preferred: A public code portfolio and previous internship experience.
Location & details#
- This internship is based on-site, primarily in Lake County or North Chicago, Illinois.
- The program takes place during Summer 2027.
- This is a paid position.
