About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within the Cancer Diagnostics division. You will work on-site in Madison to support the installation, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation. The role involves collaborating with laboratory teams to troubleshoot equipment and ensure operational reliability. You will also contribute to process improvement by reviewing standard operating procedures and analyzing data to increase efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Assist with equipment installation, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and ensure equipment reliability.
- Analyze workflows and revise standard operating procedures to reflect current practices.
- Collect and analyze operational data to identify trends and support decision-making.
- Maintain project documentation, including meeting notes, timelines, and progress updates.
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings to internal teams.
- Complete accurate service records while adhering to Good Documentation Practices.
- Ensure all work complies with regulatory standards such as CAP/CLIA, cGMP, FDA, and ISO.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an Associate's Degree Technical Program or a Bachelor's Degree in an engineering-related field.
- At least 1 year towards an Associate's program or 2 years towards a Bachelor's program completed by the start of the internship.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Experience working in a regulated environment like ISO, FDA, or CLIA.
- Experience performing system calibrations to approved specifications.
- Ability to troubleshoot, including performing root cause analysis.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift, carry, push, or pull weights over 20 pounds.
