About the role#
A. O. Smith Corporation is hiring Engineering Co-ops for our Milwaukee location. This is a paid, full-time, on-site role. You will work alongside experienced engineers on projects across research, product development, manufacturing, and quality. This program requires the completion of three working terms, including at least one Spring or Fall term.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering projects from concept through implementation.
- Assist with product and process design improvements.
- Conduct testing, data collection, and analysis.
- Create and update engineering documentation, drawings, and specifications.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support manufacturing process optimization efforts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges.
- Assist with quality investigations and corrective actions.
- Analyze production and quality data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Present project updates and recommendations to engineering and operations teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Engineering program with Junior standing or higher.
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical or biological sciences, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- A desire to seek new information.
- Experience with data analysis, reporting, or statistical tools.
