About the role#
A.N. Publishing is seeking a Journalism Editor for their POC Society platform. This is a 12-month, part-time, unpaid internship. The role is fully remote and operates with an all-volunteer staff. Candidates may be eligible to use this experience for class credit.
What you'll do#
- Act as the ranking site manager under the direction of the Publisher.
- Select and supervise site contributors while disseminating assignments.
- Guide contributors through the editorial process, from original concepts to finished articles.
- Ensure all content adheres to AP Style guidelines.
- Review and approve content, including verifying all citations and references.
- Manage and disseminate staff-related information.
What you'll need#
- Superior verbal and written communication skills with expert-level proficiency in AP Style.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and make effective decisions.
- Comprehensive knowledge of diverse international social and political landscapes.
- Proven capacity to analyze and interpret international social and political events from multiple perspectives.
- Exceptional time management skills with a track record of meeting stringent deadlines.
- Current enrollment in or a degree in Journalism, English, or Media Studies is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a remote position. While residents of New York, San Francisco, Miami, Los Angeles, Washington DC, and Chicago are encouraged to apply, the role is open to qualified applicants regardless of location.
- This is a 12-month commitment.
