What is a winter 2027 internship?

It is a student work term in the first half of 2027. In Canada it is often a co-op of about four months, from January to April. University of Waterloo lists a suggested start of 11 January 2027 and a suggested end of 30 April 2027 for that work term. In the United States the same label can mean a spring term from February to May, or a longer co-op that runs into summer. Northeastern says most co-ops last about six months and can run from four to eight months.

Can I still apply for a winter 2027 internship?

Yes. When this guide was written, the Winter 2027 page listed 5,691 open roles, and 959 had been added this week. Some employers have set a close date. iA Financial Group lists 20 November. Seaspan and the PwC Hartford tax internship list 13 November. RTX lists 9 December 2026. A recommended apply-by window on Intern Insider is a prompt. The employer deadline is the date the posting calls a deadline or a close date. Waterloo students can start a standard winter co-op as late as 16 February 2027 if the term ends 7 May. That is a school rule, and the employer can close the posting earlier.

Are winter 2027 internships paid?

The roles linked in this guide are marked paid. Teck lists CAD $4,833 to $6,125 per month. iA Financial Group lists $29.50 to $33.50 CAD per hour. Ciena lists $25.50 to $35.00 per hour for the Ottawa internship. Other listings do not state a number, so read the posting you apply to.

Do I have to be in a co-op program to take a winter 2027 term?

You need the co-op office when you want the term to count as co-op credit. iA Financial Group asks that your program require a credited internship in winter 2027. Other listings ask for current enrollment and a return to school. If your school has to approve the employer, ask the co-op office before you accept.

Spring 2027 has its own page. That page listed 453 open internships from 175 companies. Some postings use both labels. Signify's electrical engineering internship in Peachtree City is tagged Winter 2027 and Spring 2027, and the dates run from February to May 2027. Use the dates on the posting.

Canada is where a winter term is a normal part of the school year. The Canada page listed 1,270 open winter 2027 internships from 313 companies, and 253 were added this week. The United States page listed 4,433 from 1,188 companies, and 708 were added this week. Read each page on its own. What winter 2027 internships are#

A winter 2027 internship is a student work term in the first half of 2027. In Canada the common shape is a co-op of about four months, from January to April. In the United States the same label covers a February-to-May block and co-ops that run into the summer.

University of Waterloo says students in a co-op degree complete between four and six work terms, and that each work term is four months. The important dates page lists suggested dates for the January to April 2027 column: start on 11 January, end on 30 April. The last day to start for standard co-op credit in that column is 16 February, if the term ends on 7 May. Waterloo says employer dates can differ from the academic term, and that a start date has to stay clear of classes and exams. Your co-op office can use a different calendar.

Northeastern's co-op information page describes the United States pattern many co-op schools use. Most co-ops there are 6-month work experiences aligned with academic terms, including a spring and summer alignment and a summer and fall alignment, and the length can vary from 4 to 8 months.

On Intern Insider, some United States listings use Winter 2027, some use Spring 2027, and some use both. The Spring 2027 page listed 453 open internships from 175 companies, and 95 were added this week. Signify's electrical engineering internship in Peachtree City, Georgia, carries both tags, and the dates run from February to May 2027.

A winter tag can also mark a long co-op. Teck in Vancouver is eight months from 4 January 2027. Boston Scientific's urology research and development co-op in Marlborough, Massachusetts, runs from 11 January into August 2027 and is also tagged Summer 2027. The title shortens that to R&D. Biogen in Cambridge, Massachusetts, runs from January through June 2027. RTX in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, runs from January into July or August 2027, and applications close on 9 December 2026. Who is hiring for winter 2027#

Banks, insurers, accounting firms, engineering and mining companies, telecom, medical devices, and manufacturers all have winter listings. City counts on the same read: Toronto listed 227 open winter 2027 internships from 95 companies, and 53 were added this week. Vancouver listed 80 from 35 companies. Montreal listed 127 from 51 companies. Calgary listed 65 from 30 companies.

Accounting is its own search inside this term. The winter 2027 accounting field page listed 381 open internships for accounting students from 194 companies, and 59 were added this week. PwC's Hartford tax internship is paid and on-site for winter 2027. It accepts students currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting and also people who have completed one. It says applicants are typically in the third year of a four-year program or the fourth year of a five-year program, and PwC does not provide H-1B sponsorship for the position. Applications close on 13 November. BDO's core tax internship in Cleveland is paid and on-site for winter 2027 and asks for enrollment in a bachelor's or master's program in accounting or a related field. MNP's assurance and accounting co-op in Kingston, Ontario, is on-site from January to April and is tagged Winter 2027 and Spring 2027. It accepts progress toward a bachelor's degree in commerce or business, preferably accounting or finance, and it also accepts completion of that degree. CPP Investments' CPA program internship in Toronto is a paid, on-site term of eight months, tagged Winter 2027 and Summer 2027, for a current undergraduate student in accounting or finance who will return to studies afterward. When you can still apply#

The winter page says applications typically open in the fall before roles start in January. When this guide was written, that page still showed 5,691 open roles, with 959 added this week, so a January start is still ahead on a large share of listings.

Where the posting states a close date, use that date. iA Financial Group closes on 20 November. Seaspan and the PwC Hartford tax internship close on 13 November. RTX closes on 9 December 2026. Many other listings in this guide do not state an employer deadline. Intern Insider can still show a recommended apply-by window on those pages. Treat that window as a prompt to apply while the listing is open. The employer deadline is the date the posting itself calls a deadline or a close date. Waterloo's last day to start for standard co-op credit, 16 February 2027 with an end on 7 May, is a credit rule for Waterloo students. An employer can close before that day. TD starts on 4 January. Genetec starts on 11 January. Signify starts in February. If you need the work term to count toward your degree, confirm the dates with your co-op office before you accept.

How to apply#

Open the posting and read three lines before you submit: the dates, the enrollment or degree line, and any close date. Then apply from that page. PwC is one listing where the title says intern and the degree line also accepts a completed bachelor's. Read that line on every role.

Recheck the Winter 2027 internships page on the day you submit. Listings move. A role that was open when this guide was written can close, and new winter roles are still being added.
