About the role#
Zurich Canada is hiring an IT Data Governance Intern to assist with projects focused on data quality, usability, and transparency. You will work under direct supervision alongside experienced professionals to help enable stronger governance oversight and responsible AI adoption. This is a full-time, paid position that is open to both internship and co-op students.
What you'll do#
- Document business definitions, data quality rules, mappings, and other business metadata.
- Perform data quality assessments using conventional methods like SQL scripts and data profiling, alongside AI-assisted techniques.
- Prepare dashboards and reports related to data quality and governance.
- Create, enrich, and maintain business definitions, data catalogs, and lineage documentation.
- Build custom applications and solutions to improve data discoverability and trust.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Data Management, Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying, analyzing, and validating data.
- Experience with MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
- Familiarity with data analytics, reporting, or business intelligence concepts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

- Work Modality: Hybrid, requiring three days per week of in-person presence.
