About the role#
As a Launch & Scale Intern, you will contribute to projects that improve how Zipline plans, executes, and learns from new site launches. You will report to the Director of Launch & Site Operations and collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, flight operations, and commercial partners. You will own a specific project from problem definition through pilot and handoff, while supporting Launch Managers in organizing complex workstreams.
What you'll do#
- Organize milestones, dependencies, risks, and open decisions for integrated launch plans.
- Analyze site-operations data to find bottlenecks and improve speed or quality.
- Prepare materials for readiness reviews, including status summaries and action logs.
- Coordinate with functional teams to track commitments and resolve blockers.
- Build practical tools like dashboards, playbooks, templates, or automations.
- Participate in onsite launch activities to capture field observations and refine processes.
- Manage a scoped internship project from start to finish.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s or graduate degree in operations, engineering, business, supply chain, data, or a related field.
- Structured problem-solving skills and curiosity about complex physical or technical systems.
- Experience with quantitative analysis, including spreadsheets and at least one tool like SQL, Python, or a business-intelligence platform.
- Ability to explain complex information clearly in writing and conversation.
- Evidence of completing a project that involved multiple contributors.
- Comfort working in ambiguous environments and incorporating feedback.
- Reliability regarding project details.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship based in South San Francisco, California.
- The term runs during Summer 2027, from May or June through August or September.
- The pay rate is $34 per hour.
- Benefits include relocation support, a housing stipend, and overtime pay where applicable.
- We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role.
- Occasional travel within the United States is required.
