About the role#
As a Hardware Test Intern, you will join the Hardware Test Team to ensure the reliability and performance of our drone delivery systems. You will work across various hardware domains, including avionics, power systems, and mechanical assemblies. You will own a test asset from the initial planning phase through to final validation and troubleshooting.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define requirements for components and testers.
- Validate the design and assembly of parts, from circuit boards to large mechanical systems.
- Manage the full lifecycle of a test asset, including implementation, data collection, and analysis.
- Build expertise in the systems you test to understand how they behave under different conditions.
- Streamline the processes for testing, data reporting, and analysis.
What you'll need#
- Understanding of fundamental electrical or mechanical engineering principles.
- Experience using common electrical test equipment like multimeters, power supplies, and oscilloscopes.
- Ability to read datasheets and write basic drivers for new components.
- Experience programming in Python, with a foundational knowledge of embedded C.
- Experience creating software that connects directly to hardware and instrumentation.
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Biomedical, or Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in South San Francisco, California.
- The term for this role is Winter 2027.
