About the role#
As a Hardware Test Intern, you will own a test asset from start to finish. This includes planning, implementation, system validation, troubleshooting, and data analysis. You will develop a deep understanding of systems like embedded electronics, avionics, power distribution, and mechanical actuation. You will build mechatronic systems and create automation scripts to coordinate sensors, actuators, and instrumentation.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define component and tester requirements.
- Validate the design and assembly of components, from circuit boards to large mechanical or electromechanical assemblies.
- Streamline testing, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Gain expertise in the components or systems under test to understand their behavior under various operating conditions.
- Own a test asset through its entire lifecycle.
What you'll need#
- Ability to interpret datasheets and write basic drivers for new components.
- Understanding of fundamental electrical or mechanical engineering principles.
- Experience with common electrical test equipment like multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
- Experience programming in Python, with foundational knowledge of embedded C.
- Experience developing software that interfaces directly with hardware and instrumentation.
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.

- This is a full-time, on-site internship based in South San Francisco, California.
- The term is for Summer 2027.
- This position is paid.
