About the role#
As a Financial Analyst Intern on the Operations Finance team, you will help Zipline track and improve the financial performance of our global operations. You will work alongside Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Data teams to build analyses and develop insights that guide our business decisions. This role offers hands-on experience in how a hardware-enabled, technology-driven business operates.
What you'll do#
- Support metric development, reporting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Query and analyze large operational datasets using SQL.
- Build repeatable dashboards and tools in Excel, Google Sheets, and BI platforms.
- Partner with operations leaders to understand the drivers of cost, efficiency, and performance.
- Assist in month-end processes, variance analysis, and KPI reviews.
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives involving Supply Chain, Product, and Data teams.
What you'll need#
- Experience with SQL, relational databases, and working with large datasets.
- High proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, including the ability to build structured financial models.
- Strong communication skills to interact with diverse cross-functional partners.
- Knowledge of financial statements, accounting fundamentals, and core financial analysis concepts.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Science, or Operations Management.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship located on-site at our South San Francisco, California office.
- The term for this position is Winter 2027.
