About the role#
Ziegler Caterpillar offers an internship program for students pursuing a career in diesel and heavy equipment mechanics. You will work alongside senior technicians to gain hands-on experience in a shop setting. This role is paid and follows a rolling term schedule.
What you'll do#
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing heavy diesel engines, construction equipment, and agriculture equipment.
- Learn to address customer needs in a supportive and timely manner to provide value for work performed.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2-year degree program for diesel engine mechanics, construction equipment mechanics, agricultural equipment mechanics, or a related field.
- Good academic standing and positive recommendations from your instructors.
- A positive attitude and a desire to work as a team member.
- Your own mechanic tool set.
- Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting up to 60 lbs and pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to pass a drug test, as this is a safety-sensitive position.

- Employment type: Part-time.
- Starting wage: $21.00 per hour.
