About the role#
Young Life is hiring a Student Staff I for our West Salem location. This part-time position involves direct ministry work, leadership development, and spiritual growth. You will work under the supervision of an area director to gain ministry skills and contribute to our local outreach efforts.
What you'll do#
- Develop a yearly personal growth plan to foster your spiritual life.
- Engage in contact work and conduct Young Life club and Campaigners ministry.
- Recruit and train new volunteer leaders to build a strong team.
- Meet regularly with volunteer leaders and area leadership.
- Participate in the implementation of summer and school-season camping strategies.
- Manage administrative tasks, including expense reports and general office support.
- Raise financial support as directed and maintain donor care practices.
- Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
What you'll need#
- You must be currently pursuing a college degree.
- Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- A profession of belief in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord.
- Agreement with the Young Life Statement of Faith.
Location & details#
- Location: Salem, Oregon.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Employment type: Part-time (10 hours per week).
- Compensation: $15.55 to $19.25 per hour, depending on education and experience.
- This role includes a personal fundraising component.
