About the role#
Young Life Military offers a long-term internship for those who want to serve and grow in their faith. You will work alongside experienced staff at a military installation to provide ministry for teens. This role focuses on building community, modeling a personal example of faith, and helping teens develop friendships and hope. You will be expected to live near the community where you serve.
What you'll do#
- Meet weekly with your supervisor using team agenda tools.
- Lead and participate in Club Beyond clubs and small group ministry.
- Create a 90-day personal growth plan for your spiritual life.
- Attend Chapel on the installation.
- Attend volunteer leader meetings and mentor one volunteer weekly.
- Learn to recruit and train new leaders to build a diverse team.
- Raise financial support and send monthly updates to your donor partners.
- Develop outreach programs for unchurched teens and provide discipleship for believing teens.
- Lead and equip volunteers for middle and high school youth ministry.
What you'll need#
- High school graduation at least 2 years prior to the start date.
- A deep love for Christ and for teens.
- Strong initiative and an energetic personality.
- Ability to communicate well.
- A teachable heart.
- Willingness to raise part of your budget through personal support.
- Commitment to a relational ministry approach.
- Skills in small event planning.
Location & details#
- Location: Travis AFB, California.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time, rolling term.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship. You are responsible for raising your own salary, which ranges from $1,160 to $4,000 depending on the location and duration of your service.
