About the role#
Young Life Military offers a long-term internship for individuals who want to grow in their faith while serving military teens. You will work alongside an experienced staff member at a military installation to provide a community where teens build friendships and find support. This role focuses on relational ministry and requires living near the community where you serve.
What you'll do#
- Conduct Club Beyond club and small group ministry as part of a leadership team.
- Meet weekly with supervising staff to review progress and training tools.
- Create a 90-day personal growth plan that includes prayer, reflection, and Bible study.
- Attend Chapel on installation and participate in volunteer leader meetings.
- Mentor one volunteer weekly and learn how to recruit and train new team members.
- Build a leadership team that reflects the local community.
- Develop community outreach programs to reach unchurched teens.
- Lead and equip volunteers for middle and high school youth ministry.
- Raise financial support and send monthly updates to your donor partners.
What you'll need#
- High school graduation at least two years prior to the start of the internship.
- A deep love for Christ and a heart for teens.
- Strong initiative and a teachable heart.
- Ability to communicate clearly with others.
- Energy and skills for planning small events.
- Commitment to a relational ministry approach.
- Willingness to raise part of your budget through personal support.
- Majors in Sociology, Psychology, Communications, History, or Philosophy are relevant to this work.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship based in North Carolina.
- The program operates on a rolling basis.
- You must be willing to raise financial support for your salary, ranging from $1160 to $4000 depending on the specific location and duration of the internship.
