About the role#
Young Life Military offers a long-term internship for individuals who want to serve and grow in their faith. You will work alongside an experienced staff member at a U.S. military installation to lead and oversee the Club Beyond program. This role focuses on building community with teens, modeling a personal example of faith, and learning the foundations of youth ministry.
What you'll do#
- Meet weekly with your supervisor to review ministry goals using team agenda tools.
- Lead and conduct Club Beyond club and small group ministry for middle and high school students.
- Create a 90-day personal growth plan to foster your spiritual life.
- Attend Chapel on the installation and participate in volunteer leader meetings.
- Recruit, train, and build a leadership team that reflects the local community.
- Meet weekly with a volunteer to support their involvement.
- Develop community outreach for unchurched teens and provide discipleship for believing teens.
- Communicate monthly updates to your personal donor partners and discuss financial support raising with your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- You must have graduated high school at least 2 years ago.
- A deep love for Christ and for teens.
- Strong initiative and a teachable heart.
- Ability to communicate clearly.
- Energy and skills in small event planning.
- Commitment to a relational ministry approach.
- Willingness to raise part of the budget through personal support.
Location & details#
- Location: Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- The program operates on a rolling basis.
- You will be expected to live near the community where you serve.
