About the role#
This Mission Staff internship provides hands-on experience in Young Life ministry. You will learn to lead and participate in field ministry through a combination of training and direct engagement. This role focuses on spiritual growth, leadership development, and resource management within the Chattanooga community.
What you'll do#
- Develop a yearly personal growth plan to foster your spiritual life.
- Participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
- Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
- Recruit and train new leaders while modeling excellence in club, Campaigners, and camping.
- Meet regularly with volunteer leaders and area leadership.
- Raise financial support and communicate updates to donor partners.
- Build strategic relationships with key adults like parents, pastors, and principals.
- Engage in all three levels of contact work.
- Plan and conduct Young Life club and discipleship ministry.
- Implement camping strategies for both summer and school seasons.
- Serve on a summer assignment at a Young Life camp annually.
- Manage finances with transparency and maintain accurate records for kids, leaders, and donors.
- Set and review yearly strategic ministry plans.
What you'll need#
- A profession of belief in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord.
- Agreement with the Young Life Statement of Faith.
- Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- A college degree is preferred.
